Summary

This study highlights the ongoing review and assessment of English Language Acquisition courses at Skagit Valley College. Specifically, we employ the Lesson Study (Perry & Lewis, 2009) model to redesign our English Language Acquisition curriculum, with an explicit focus on actionable learning outcomes, connection with upper-level courses, and transferability to degree-seeking programs. Preliminary findings and analyses of the first cycle of implementation are presented in this article.
